The peaceful coexistence between Jews and Arabs: From chapter 18 of George Habash’s book “ Revolutionaries Never Die “ (3rd Part)

Dialogue: Interviewer of George Malberino.

Q : Many of the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip are cogitating.
They may not wait for another fifty years. What do you have to say about that?
R : This is not true.
The refugee camp young people within Palestine and out of it are more contentment that their parents of the justness of their issue to get their homeland back. It is not only the refugees alone who want that.
The majority of Palestinians hold to the return right.
I am sure of that. It is a holy right.
I am sure that if Palestinians got the land to establish a liberated real state, with a normal sovereignty, the great majority will return to it.
This goal is impossible now, but with time it will be, because there is nothing impossible.
I go back to repeat that people who were born out of Palestine are more enthusiastic to return that the generation of their fathers who lived the setback of 1948 and the war of 1967.
The ideas that says the next generation will forget with time the Palestinian issue, is a wrong idea. Q : Will the state be a fruit of the political military fruit?
R : All forms of struggle must be put together to reach the goal. We can not have success if we limit our efforts to one form without the other.
Q : But, aren’t the balances of forces for the advantage of Israel, currently?
R : Our military situation now is not very satisfactory.
But things may change completely.
Those who has the biggest right in Palestine? Who lived on the land for thousands of years, who were taken away from it for about sixty years, by the Zionist occupation.
Do the Russian, Polish, Ethiopic and others Jews, who came some decades ago have the right to the land?
The world must understand finally that there is an unjust situation that should be corrected and there are rights that should return to their legal people.
Q : Do you depend on demography?
R : Yes, it is a demographic war. Things will change for our advantage when we become in more numbered.
That would be considered in practice as an important dimension in planning and mobilizing masses. Time works for us one way or another. So, Israel is trying to bring more than ten million Jews to Palestine to face this problem.
Q : on the real ground , the Israelis are building many settlements in the West Bank.
Does the time factor work against you in this aspect?
R : It is true that it might work against us. but many within the Israeli society started, as I said before, asking questions about the Zionist movement.
The fact that there are more than one million Arabic Palestinians who hold the Israeli nationality in the land of 1948, is for our advantage, because the world will move if Israel tried to expel them.
