In the American city of Boston, a workshop was held in April 05th 2009, with participation of groups of American and Arab American cultured elites, to throw light on the issue of the Palestinian Israeli conflict.
The workshop came up with conclusion that the two states solution has completely failed… stating that that the single state solution is the only way out of the Middle East conflict.
In this regard, Aljazeera channel correspondent in Boston reported that the single state solution where Palestinians and Jews live together started to receives attention amongst cultured circles in America.
Aljazeera correspondent, citing some participants, has reported that the reality on the ground is the very factor demonstrating that the solution is in the establishment of one state, indicating that this solution is likely to find attentive ears among the politicians in Washington.
The participants in the workshop also did not rule out that the reality on the ground might push US president Obama to reconsider his beliefs regarding the two states.
Within this context, Kevin Bowen, the researcher in the center for study of war in the University of Massachusetts Boston said: there must be a solution guaranteeing equal rights in citizenship, land ownership, education and practice of religious ceremonies.
He adds illustrating that if this did not happen, there will then be no peace.
From its part, the Israeli university “Samada” stated that it did not believe in the two states solution which it considered as a means to more occupation. Samada University has also stated: we need to stay within the borders of a single state with equal rights for all.
In this regard, Colonel Muammar Qaddafi has in his lecture to the students and professors of the American George Town University stated that the region located between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean cannot accommodate two states… clarifying that these two states will be in permanent conflicts.
In that lecture of January 21st 2009, Colonel Qaddafi also stated that all solutions have been attempted including the military one, and all have failed.
Qaddafi also stated that this once again demonstrates the solution presented in the White Book calling for the establishment of a single democratic state for Palestinians and Israelis saying:
I have studied this issue and took part in it, the radical, historic, reasonable and final solution capable of achieving peace, is in the White Book, a single state.
He also adds: if Jews ever wanted to live in peace, they have to accept to co-exist with Palestinians in one state.
To
