So the same intended ambiguity that haunted the American vision exists in the international reference that the resolution speaks of the two Security Council resolutions 242 and 338 as references and speaks of a (region) where two states can live together, but it did not mention an independent Palestinian state on the occupied territories of 1967, the resolution also did not mention the issue of Jerusalem and the refugee right of return. This intended ambiguity is the very thing that encouraged Israel to tamper with the idea of the two-state solution, since there is no international reference obliges Israel to the State’s borders and sovereignty, this Palestinian state can therefore be in Jordan or it might be Jordan itself and the Knesset has since nearly a month ago discussed this idea, and Israel may work towards the goal of making this state in only Gaza Strip.
Within this context, Areal Sharon did not come out of Gaza in 2005 in vain, isn’t Gaza a neighboring with Israel and there are no settlements in there, with geographically connected parts and most importantly viable as the roadmap states as long as it has a sea and borders with Egypt?
This state might be in Cantons in what will remain of West Bank ruled by Palestinians to name it a state or whatsoever they will as long as sovereignty and security are guaranteed for Israel, haven’t the Palestinians establish an authority, government, ministries, embassies and even airport etc… along fifteen years!
The Palestinian division and the geographical separation between Gaza and West Bank plus the failure of the Palestinian authority and Palestinian political elites to rise to the challenge are what giving the advantage to Israel to shape and design the features of this state in case it (Israel) was forced to grant the Palestinians a state, unfortunately some Palestinians intersect with Israel in this vision that HAMAS movement is now concentrating only on establishing a state in Gaza and to deal with West Bank and the other territories of Palestine as occupied lands to be left for the unknown future to decide their fate or for a supernatural power to defeat the Jews, we wish if they just listened to the late Abu Ammar and participated in the 1996 elections and coordinated their positions and operations with him instead of escaping forward, the very thing if done, our affairs would not be as it is now, and the resistance would not be a heavy burden on it more than it is on Israel.
